India is the birth place of Chicken Tikka Masala and Curries. Indian foods are prepared with a blend of finely mixed spices quite popular across the region. The spices develop the rich taste in Indian food enough to boggle your mind. The ever-increasing fan base of Indian food around the New York city is steadily increasing because of the large number of Indians who traveled to the land of dreams. The Indians also brought their very own vibrant, colorful, and aromatic authentic dishes for the people in the West. While most of the Indian population is Vegetarian, Indian food is great for people who are looking for vegan or vegetarian food option. If you are a Meat lover, don't get disappointed yet. Indian food also boasts of some popular non-vegetarian dishes too. Few examples are the famous Butter Chicken, Mutton Biryani and Tandoori Chicken are enough to satisfy your taste buds.
Indian food has gained reputation all over the world especially in the United States. You can find many places serving the appetizing Indian food across all major cities in the US. India is a diverse country with different food culture originated from different parts of the country. While the Northern region boasts tandoori dishes and korma offering royal taste, the Western Ghats offers sea foods that is made in naturally sweet tender coconut milk. The South Indian food servers a quality of different dishes made from rice accompanied with spicy chutneys, curries and famous sambhar. Also, the Indian sweets are a delight to relish. If you ever want to have a burst of sugar syrup in mouth, don't forget to try few Bengali Sweets. Be it spicy, tangy, or sweet flavor, you can find everything in the Indian cuisine. Be assured that the melody of spices will surely bring delight to you.

First time eating here this afternoon. I was very satisfied. The owners were very friendly and inviting, as soon as you walk in the door. I got the lamb curry (spicy) and garlic naan bread and I was surprised by how good it was! Pretty decent portions too. I'd suggest this place to everyone I know, honestly. The customer service and the quality of food I received were enough to keep me coming back for sure.

We found this great little place driving back from Panguitch, Utah. We had the place to ourselves, and the food was prepared very fast. We ordered a medium butter chicken and mild chicken tikkha masala. We received a mild butter chicken and a medium tikka masala. It tasted delicious none-the-less! We would absolutely eat here again and it was great to find Indian food on the way home, unexpectedly. It was also gluten free, which is important to me. Thankfully the other reviewers posted about that as well. I love Indian food, it is a personal favorite. If you enjoy Indian food try Bombay Cafe.

Though the staff was very kind and genuine, I was let down by this restaurant. You may enjoy it more if you don't go into it expecting the normal Indian Food Restaurant experience. First off, it is order at the counter. The atmosphere is very "strip mall dive" (slash gift shop....), though the plates the food is served on are beautiful. Second, it isn't served family style. The dish is served as a single portion on a plate with rice and cucumbers and yogurt. It makes it cheaper I suppose if you do it the right way, but it makes sharing more difficult. We began our meal with an appetizer of vegetable samosas. They first arrived partially frozen so we sent them back. When a new batch came, guess what? Parts were STILL frozen, but we just didn't complain. We asked about the naan when ordering and found out they don't make it - they just warm it up. It is NOT like the traditional naan. It is basically glorified pita bread, or as we named it, non-naan. The dishes were good, but definitely not the best Indian food I've had. Basically, I probably wouldn't return here. I don't know how good other St. George food is, but I think there are probably better options. I would be interested to compare this to the other, apparently new, Indian food restaurant that appears to be more what I would have expected. If you go, just make sure you go with an open mind... Or just stay home with your frozen Indian food meal that you can at least make sure is warmed all the way through.

Quaint is how I would describe this place. The man at the register was very nice and friendly. He took my order and promised it would be fast (to go). He didn't tell me that the naan I ordered wasn't really naan. It was grilled flat bread with garlic salt. Such a shame that an otherwise tasty meal was tainted by a lack of real naan. I ordered the veggie coconut curry which was very good, the eggplant pakora which was very good but only two pieces for $4 (not a great deal), flat bread (ok for bread, disappointing for naan), and halwa which was good but the foil wrapping left something to be desired. Definitely better than a three but maybe less than a four.
(4)Cheyenne W.
We gave this place a try and glad we did! It's the best Indian food we've had state-side! We had chicken coconut curry and lamb coconut and both were really good!
(5)Jennifer B.
The best Indian food ever! I've been coming here for a couple years and it never disappoints.
(5)Peter H.
I had had several long days on the road and decided to stay here before hitting Vegas and was hungry for Indian - unexpectedly, I found Bombay Cafe and ordered take out. Its a very modest spot but not hard to find, easy parking etc. Once back to my room the food was unexpectedly good -well spiced and as hot spicy as i asked for. Support these folks they are doing good stuff in a tough little outpost (I'd expect) for new restaurants.
(4)Denney F.
Great food, wonderful presentation of the food and friendly service. This is my first time at Bombay Cafe and I'll be back the next time I'm in St. George. Nicely priced. It's a great value.
(4)Lisa P.
I love Indian food... and I totally love this place. If I lived in Saint George I would eat here once a week. The reason that I love it here is that I like spicy as does my husband but my parents do not. We were able to get dishes that everyone loved and that you could let them know what you wanted (mild to spicy). My dad who does not love Indian food like I do even loved it and finished his whole plate. The owner is very nice and will explain the dishes and recommend items. Now if you like Mango you should try the Mango Lassi (it is mango and yogurt blended together, like a smoothie) This one was really tasty. I will be back next time I am visiting... Side note my husband thought they were a little on the pricey side but I don't agree with him.
(5)Jennifer P.
Found this little gem with a fellow foodie who also happens to have a penchant for delicious Indian food done right!! The owners were wonderful! Friendly, informative and even brought out samples of some new recipes they were trying!! I'm definitely in love for sure, my goal is to try everything on their menu at least twice!!
(5)Milena C.
I had the coconut chicken curry. Large portions for the price and delicious favors. Rice was also on point and flavorful flat bread. Best meal I've had in a really long time. Highly recommended!!
(5)Kari R.
Update! Since my first visit 5 months ago, I've been back several times. Ive brought my friends and family and they love it as well. Every time we go it's amazing! Delicious food every single time.
(5)Natalie N.
LOVE this place. Owners are very nice. the food is always great and good sized portions, pricing is good too
(4)Raquel C.
My daughter and I tried Bombay Cafe for the first time today. Wow. I can't believe we had not made it here sooner! We both had Coconut Curry (I had chicken, she had Vegan) and the Garlic Naan. The curry was fantastic, and the naan was fluffy and tasty, especially when dipped into the curry sauce. You also get a lot of food for your money here, it is a great value. Restaurant is small and clean, and the owners are very nice. Lots of cool bags, scarves and jewelry in there too! We can't wait to visit again and try more menu items, it was great!!
(5)Paul S.
Always a great place to get some very good tasting food. Their hours sometimes are odd but great food when it's open.
(5)Rodger D.
Lamb curry was excellent! There were a few of us that walked up from Dixie State University. Some have had Indian food, some were not very familiar with it. Everyone loved it.
(5)Heather T.
This place is a gem! The food is fantastic and cheap!! The owners are so nice and care that you enjoy your meal. My husband and I both got chicken tikka because it's our favorite Indian dish, and our only regret is that we didn't order a variety since the chicken tikka was so good! I strongly recommend checking this place out!
(5)Scott W.
Amazing food. Fresh and full of flavor. Has the chicken coconut curry. Great atmosphere.
(5)Anvesh R.
The worst indian restaurant I have ever visited. I would have given zero stars if given the option here. We were 8 people and none of us liked the food. Everything we ordered (8 platters) tasted pepper. We couldn't find anything but pepper in the food. The service isn't good too and the owner is not customer-friendly. For those who are going for the first time, trust me, this is definitely not how indian food tastes.
(1)Andrew H.
Weird Indian restaurant with shit decor and tables. The staff were amicable at best, the young guy who greeted us was a strange fellow indeed. The food seemed like it was straight out of a microwave meal, if anyone thinks this is a good Indian restaurant you obviously have never eaten proper Indian. Do not trust reviews that say this place has good Indian food.
(2)Sandeep K.
Amazing Indian restaurant in the middle of nowhere. Made me so happy. But that's not the only reason why it gets 5 stars from me. The food is delicious! We tried butter chicken, mixed vegetables curry and chicken tikka masala. The quantity of food is less and price little expensive. The naan was a little different. Thicker but very soft! (which is better).
(5)Roger T.
The style is such that you walk in, order at a counter, then the proprietor brings out your food. The size of the dish is reasonable...enough to fill you up, but not so large it's overwhelming. The flavors are good and balanced. Much of the complexity and subtly of Indian fare is missing, but it's solid goodness- combine that with the supper friendly proprietor , and we'll definitely return. Or, perhaps we'll wait until his new place opens on Main St in Cedar City. He estimates it'll be open around April 15 or sooner. Either way, this place has earned our return visits.
(4)William W.
This restaurant and their sister restaurant in Cedar City have been experiencing some attacks in the form of bad reviews, possibly due to opening of local competitor Indian restaurant. For less experienced Yelp users please consider when reading reviews. I've been eating here for over a year. Great food, good prices, friendly service, family owned and operated.
(5)Merritt M.
Food was awesome! Spent half a year in India and I felt right at home! Very authentic! I wish they had lamb biryani!!! The Chala Masana is my fave!
(5)Nick M.
This is a great little escape in St. George if you're looking to spice up your dining out experience. We have been here several times and have had excellent courteous service every time, not to mention the delicious Indian food.
(5)Presha T.
Who can know the taste of Indian food better then an Indian. Fabulous authentic Indian food. Then quantity is reasonable. And the service is pretty good too. :)
(5)Tim T.
For better or worse, this is the ONLY Indian food place in the area, so that may skew the rating a little bit. As a fan of vegetarian Indian cuisine, I'm happy that the place exists. It's pretty bare-bones insude -- the walls have Indian (I assume...) scarves, handbags, & other trinkets on the walls, plus of course travel posters promoting India, but otherwise the place is pretty plain inside. You order at the front counter, looking at the menu on the chalkboard above it, then seat yourself after paying. The food was prompt, and it was pretty good. At other Indian places I've been to (hundreds of miles away...) the Naan bread usually is included with entrees, but here it's extra. Portions weren't great, but the food was good. I wish that they were busy enough to be able to offer a small lunch or dinner buffet (& that seems common to lots of other Indian restaurants in other areas, but they have a populace which support such things) but I'm at least glad I can get a quick, local fix for Indian food once a month or so. Be sure to pay attention to their operating hours! They're open for lunch, then close for a few hours, then are open for dinner for a few hours. I hope by doing this, they can sustain their business. SW Utah doesn't exactly have the right demographics for an Indian restaurant to do really, really well, but for selfish reasons (until I move outta here to a more cosmopolitan area), I sure hope the place stays in business.
(4)Mac C.
Came here with the wife on our way South. The family that runs this place was very nice, and there was a steady flow of people coming and going. St. George is not known for it's 'ethnic' food so our expectations were not high. The food tasted good, but was unlike any Indian food I've had. There seems to be a lot of adaptation going on, I'd come here if I were staying in St. George and wanted some variety.
(3)Jeff M.
We came across this place last night and greatly enjoyed our dinner. The staff there was very friendly and the food was fresh and delicious. I had the coconut curry chicken and went with spicy. It was perfect. I highly recommend it.
(5)Tom D.
Bombay Cafe, a family-owned, hole-in-the-wall restaurant, is a culinary oasis in a desert of choices in Southern Utah. St George is beginning to attract good ethnic cuisine, and this place is a great example. This is not a "red chicken in clay oven" Indian restaurant like you find so many places across the U.S. Not fancy or ornate. I've eaten here 4-5 times, and I've sampled a number of the appetizers and entrees, and each and every time I've thoroughly enjoyed their home cooked style, wonderful flavors, and the friendliness of the owners. If you aren't sure what to order, talk to a few of the customers, or ask the welcoming owners. You can't go wrong with Bombay Cafe.
(5)Addi F.
Amazing and delicious! Had the chicken coconut curry and the chicken tiki Marsala, both mild. Chose the garlic naan bread. All was delicious. Mild was barely spicy, will probably choose medium next time. Will definitely be going back to try more of their cuisine.
(5)Matthew W.
This place was great! We were visiting for a day and found Bombay Cafe on yelp. It was nestled in a pretty unassuming parking lot. The food was prompt and delicious. Everything was made fresh and the garlic naan was a great consistency. The staff was both friendly and polite. Would definitely come back next time I'm in town.
(5)Sandy J.
My husband and I ate lunch here yesterday and it was one of the best Indian meals . We have traveled all over the world and I am so happy to have found a local place that is incredible. We ordered vegan dishes and garlic Naan and everything was amazing.
(5)Timothy H.
Love me some Indian food! The people are very friendly, good portion sizes, great taste, and also great vegetarian options! I love this place.
(4)Jeffrey F.
We came based on a friends recommendation for great food and we loved it. The food was excellent and the service had a personal touch. The location was great. The food took a little longer than we would have liked but after we tasted it, it didn't matter. We will be back and would recommend all of our friends to try it out.
(4)Maddy S.
Bombay Cafe was such a cute mom and pop Indian place. Excellent food! We cleaned our plates! The chicken korma and garlic naan bread were amazing and the owners (husband and wife) were so gracious! Would definitely recommend this place if you're craving Indian cuisine. My hubby and I are from Dallas, TX where we've had our fair share of Indian food, and this place is pretty excellent in comparison!
(5)Amy L.
Are you looking for vegan or vegetarian cuisine in St. George? Bombay Cafe is a great option and has several sumptuous dishes at reasonable prices. It is freshly cooked to order and the flavors are delicious. Try it if you want to have good Indian Food...you won't be disappointed!
(4)Grady G.
"please remember, my review is subjective" My family was traveling through St. George, and we decided to try this place as, as we always love to have Indian food. We felt welcome and relaxed here. It was a very comfortable setting. I love the portions, it felt as if we were guests eating in their home. Sag Panner Plate 4.5 stars Chicken Tikki Masala plate 4 stars Garlic Naan, regular Naan. 5 stars The Naan was very different from what I am used too, but in a great way. The Naan was fluffy and thick. Great taste. I wanted more but held myself in check. I will make it a point to stop here the next time I ever come through St. George. Very Nice owners and Chef.

When I was planning my trip to St. George for my annual Tuacahn shows and hiking trip, I checked Yelp for some new places for dinner. I had started to do repeat visits. On searching, I found Mombay Cafe, and I knew I had to trust my fellow Yelpers and give it a try. The place is a small mom and pop shop in a small strip mall just off St. George Boulevard. There are 7 tables total. The menu is small. I ordered the Coconut Curry Chicken, and order of Garlic Naan, and a Coke. The total for the bill was just about $11 and the dinner came with a small salad. The woman suggested since this was my first time eating there, I try medium spice which is what I did. This was good. It could have been spicier but I'm afraid that a total "spicy" might have overdone the spiciness. The meal was very good, very flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The chicken came on a bed of rice. I was there for about 30 minutes as service was quick and pleasant. This is a great stop if you're in St. George as a stopping off point for going to Zion National Park or Tuacahn. St. George, you're growing and maturing. An Indian restaurant--wow, who would have thought it?
(4)Rob L.
Great food, good prices, nice people, humble decor it does not get better in St. George or many other places for that matter. healthy home cooking oh sooooo good.
(5)April R.
We were passing through St George and decided to give Bombay a try. SO GLAD we did!. You order from a walk-up window in a no-frills restaurant tucked away off the main street. The person at the counter was helpful and friendly. We had chicken tikka masala, chicken vindalo and naan bread. Quick and tasty. The price was right too. The whole meal was less than $25.00 which is great for Indian food. Will definitely visit again.
(4)Rex J.
I've had a fair amount of Indian food in my time. I have to say, this place is outstanding! My wife and I have gone many times now. We've tried a wide variety of the dishes offered and have been impressed with each one. I'd highly recommend this to anyone. They have some very ethnic dishes for those looking for some Classic Indian food. And they also have options for those just looking to try it out for the first time.
(5)Gail S.
Clearly the citizens of St. George have had very little exposure to good Indian food. The Naan can from the grocery store, the Coconut Curry contained frozen carrots and peas from a bag, Spinach Paneer had one tiny piece of paneer. I gave the restaurant two stars because I felt generous. I agree with Anvesh R, This is NOT good Indian food and not really "good" food.
(2)Andrea S.
So happy there is a place in Saint George that not only makes and serves delicious Indian food but that has a proprietor and employees that are genuinely kind people.
(4)Katie P.
ummmm....YUM! We've eaten here twice in the last week...and tonight will be a third time. Indian food in Southern Utah? YES! So, without trying to sound vain, hubby and I agree that my naan and daal taste better, BUT the samosas, pakoras, the chicken curry, with and without coconut are FABulous! We had friends go with us a couple of nights ago and they loved it, too. What am I getting tonight? The Lamb Curry! (mild, as I'm a wus with the spicy heat)...it is by FAR the BEST curry EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! Sop it up with some naan and the basmati rice? It is a small cafe. You order, pay, and sit down to wait for your food to arrive to your table. They have clothing, purses, jewelry, and such for sale, too with Bollywood movies playing. The owners are very kind. If you don't think it's spicy enough...TELL them! lol They said they'll make it as hot as you want it or can/cannot handle it! :)
(5)William J.
Food Poisoning Anyone? Check out their kitchen before eating there...FILTHY !!. Doesn't St. George have a health inspector? I know some people in St.George are so hungry for "ethnic" food that they'll give 4 stars to anything...this is truly authenic "ethnic" food...if you've ever been to Pakistan and seen their lack of care in the preparation of their foods...you'll like it here.
(1)Mattison W.
I went when they opened, and they had a few bugs to work out. I wasn't impressed. So years passed before I went again, and it's too bad I didn't go back sooner because it is delicious! The menu is relatively small, but there isn't anything wrong with that. It's a café. And it's family-run. So you do get that personal touch, and they are super nice. About the food, I particularly love the coconut chicken curry, tikka masala, and the palak paneer. The naan, though delicious, is not made in house and is not quite the traditional naan. But I love it nonetheless. The style, being a café, is not exactly standard for Indian cuisine in the way the food is ordered and served with a singular, overhead menu at the register, and dished come with your entrée, rice, relish, and raita, all on one plate. Not conducive to family-style, dining, but that is to be expected at a café. Overall, food is great, service, great, and the prices are quite reasonable if not great as well. I eat there frequently. So should you.
(5)Willy L.
In route to ski in Park City and happened on this hidden gem. Worth finding it in this tucked away strip mall. Started with eggplant pakora. Good. Chicken Vindalo very good. Lamb Curry, priceless. Brought in a bottle of Russian river Pinot noir. No corkage. Wish this gem was in Orange County
(4)Jason H.
Our family ate at Bombay Cafe due to the positive reviews we found online and also because we love Indian cuisine. Bombay Cafe didn't disappoint; they had reasonably priced lunch specials and we received warm and friendly service. We were glad to have vegetarian and gluten free lunch options with some in our party opting for chicken and naan bread as well. All of the dishes were served hot, well seasoned and they were all delicious. Thank you for a great meal!
(4)Jonathan E.
This place makes me sad. Yet another "hole-in-the-wall" catches my eye and I'm unable to resist. The location is as inconspicuous as any other and you may miss the sign first time around. The decor is rather nondescript as well, save for a dreadfully evil skeleton looking thing on the left wall whom I affectionately named "Bob". The menu had all you'd expect at a local Indian joint and the staff was pleasant and polite. But unlike other places where the food is the star attraction, that wasn't the case here. It didn't take center stage but rather it -was- the stage. It was the bloody building for that matter and then some.. My first bite of the incredible Chicken Coconut Curry was my last conscious thought and it utterly consumed me. It is impossible to express how much I loved this dish and while I tend to be biased because I'm on vacation, I don't think that was the case. It was without a doubt the best Indian food I have ever had from NJ to California and now....all my other favorite Indian places will probably taste dull in comparison. Worse still, it's about 400 miles away from my home leaving me with nothing but memories until I take yet another pilgrimage to my Mecca of Indian food.
(5)Robin B.
Yay for the Bombay Cafe ! One word- "NOM-aste!" Small, tucked away, limited menu. simple furnishings, clean. I like their side salad with innovative cilantro dressing, comes with lunches. Kabob is great. I would like to see more raita. AND you can shop for jewelry, great summery scarves and select fashion items from India for men and women while you wait for your order. You should patronize this place so they can stay in business, so that I may continue to eat here!
(4)Robert E.
I used to drive to Vegas or to Salt Lake just to eat indian food, then turn around and come back home to southern Utah. Bombay Cafe is recently-redecorated, so the walls have a bunch of "shalwar qameez" for sale (or however you spell it), which my lady friends love; and the food is phenomenal. The new warm lights help the atmosphere and the food tastes better. The food takes a little while to prepare because it is not fast food. It is really, really GOOD food. I just had Coconut Lamb Curry for breakfast, and I'm telling you this stuff is just ridiculously tasty. You know a place is legitimate when the middle-easterners from Cedar City drive an hour every other day to eat here. I recommend the Spinach Paneer to vegetarians. I sometimes ask Shazad to make me a lamb-spinach-paneer, which is not on the menu, and which has a deep, rich flavor. It helps that the cook honors your spice-level requests. When I ask for no spice, I get no spice. When you ask for intense spice, you're looking at the very limits of "you don't give it to the white boy" hot. It's just north of the cemetery in St. George, and kinda behind "Ministerios de Amor en Accion".
(5)Michael M.
This place is the epitome of a "hole in the wall". Not much to look at but the food was excellent! Although it's really Pakistani food and not indian (The owner is from Lahore). The Lamb Curry and Chicken Vindalo were truly excellent. Our food was made fresh to order, and quickly. I'll for sure go back again.
(4)Ashleigh M.
LOVE their chicken coconut curry (some of the best I've ever had) Only complaint is their hours.
(4)James K.
Passing thru, we were looking for some good Indian food. Based on Yelp reviews we tried The Bombay Cafe. Don't be put off by the very casual (unusual) decor and serving style. The main thing is the food, which was as good as any we have had, and we have had some of the best, in Boston, Santa Barbara, LA, England, Scotland. The only complaint is no liquor license (what is good Indian food without a Taj or a Flying Horse...). Highly recommended. Try the Eggplant Samosa and the Coconut Curry vegetables.
(4)eric j.
Heading south to Vegas and read all the other reviews so we stopped in. We were not let down. I had the chicken coconut curry and the garlic naan and my wife had the chicken tikka masala. Both were fantastic. Good portion of food for one. The owners are very friendly. Glad we stopped in.
(5)Jayson W.
First order of business: the picture of the MENU is old and PRICES ARE HIGHER now. Paid 9.99 for lamb curry and 8.99 for butter chicken and 1.99 per naan. That's fine and all, I'm used to paying that price for Indian food but the old menu prices on in the pic had me excited. The food was good, moderate portions, I could have eaten more but it was enough to make me full. I am almost positive the naan is not made in house. All the pieces are perfectly round, same shape and have what looks like pre-made grill lines on the bottom. Would have given 5 stars if the prices lower.
(4)Greg F.
Out of control coconut chicken! Best food I've had since being in at George especially for the price, and truly nice owners. Definitely stop here for dinner!!
(5)nina m.
Small restaurant in St George if you looking for food with curry. The name of the restaurant Bombay Cafe but the food is not INDIAN food ,it is PAKISTANI food and the owner is Pakistani as well not sure why he gave it indian name and all dishes are Pakistani dishes . I love Indian food and was surprise when I ordered and was not . The service is very good and the food is ok, the Lamb Curry was excellent . I was not fan of the Samosa was very greasy and oily and I will not order it again, the Naan is not fresh . The Portion of the plate very small For sure I will give it another try
(3)Chelsea R.
Great stuff! I just moved to St. George and was excited to find an indian restaurant. The owners are great, the food is awesome and has a wonderful homemade quality. Definitely get the garlic naan. I had the chicken coconut curry and loved it! I'll be going here again for sure.
(5)Ken J.
Authentic Indian cuisine. Thanks to yelp, we found this hidden gem in a small strip mall just off the main drive in St George. While the other restaurants in town had long lines of waiting customers, we walked right in and ordered straight away. Given the quality and unique touch to the meal we savored (can you say homemade Naan, chicken masala, and lamb curry in Hindi?), this little family restaurant should have had the longest line in the city. But I suspect it will remain a well-kept secret to be discovered mainly by the savvy users of yelp. Highly recommend and will definitely return whenever possible.
(4)Lo B.
I love Indian food and would love to give this place a stellar review but after only two times in I can't. The first time the food was very good, though I was totally disappointed in the naan bread. It was pretty much just pita bread. The second time in there was a white guy doing the cooking and it was terrible food. Now it's been a couple years sense we have been in, so maybe things have changed. If they have I will change my review...
(3)Ron S.
The place is like a dingy cafeteria. Indian food was below average with small portions. Only went one time. Too bad, because there isn't a good Indian restaurant place in SG.
(2)Proteus D.
Vacationing nearby and excited to find an Indian take out in town with good reviews. We did not have high expectations given what must be a very sparse Indian population in Southern Utah but decided to give it a go. We are British and I have literally been to hundreds of Indian and Pakistani restaurants in my time both in the UK and here in the US (East Coast). Bombay Cafe is quite unique in that the food is not typical. It was tasty enough and spicy (thanks to the addition of fresh chili). But seemed a little bland. For example I would have expected some peppers and other vegetables in the veggie curry, it was just carrots, peas and potato. Also the Naan seemed to have come straight from a packet and the pakora a little undercooked. However I will say I enjoyed the food and even heated it up on day 2 for a repeat. So if your in the area and fancy a cheap curry, you probably can't go wrong. Just don't expect a 5 star experience. They do have good vegan options which is great.
(3)JJ L.
Very nice staff. Food was just average. Naan was not fresh, it seemed like it was a warmed up piece of pita bread. Chicken Tikka Masala was below average. Good Mango Lassi. Came to $15. I would not eat here again.

Fabulous! Had the chicken curry and was not disappointed. I loved how friendly the owners were and how spicy the hot level dish was. Don't go for the decor go for the food! I will go back when I am in St. George next!

Very average Indian food. The food didnt have very much flavor and the place is definitely a hole. There was only one employee and he had to try very hard to be pleasant. Would never come again unless it was the only Indian food option within 100 miles and I had to have Indian food. If you have had decent Indian food before you will recognize quickly that this place is very very bland.

Very good food with reasonable prices. The spinach paneer was especially good. Food is served fast and the server was very friendly. The Naan was tasty, but portion-wise, was a bit small for the extra $2. Overall, highly recommended.

Umm we saw the review and felt that it was worth a shot. The overall prices were fair, but the food is poor. The chicken tikka masala looks like it was microwaved. If you looked it up online, it would be a nice orange-y sauce, not a red mashed paste with oil. Not bad, but definitely not what I expected it to be. However the older gentleman who cooked & served was very nice.

Amazing Indian cuisine! I've had Indian food all over this country and really had no expectations walking into this unassuming place. Was totally blown away. This may be the best Indian food I've ever had.

The food was excellent. The place was clean. The owners were so kind and friendly. I will defiantly be visiting again.

This place is certainly worth checking out. The food is between adequate and good. They spice it up a little more than I expected, so watch that. The mango smoothie is fabulous. Very good value for price. The staff/owner team is absolutely delightful. They have a wonderful little ambience in a cafeteria-type setting.

Was NOT expecting to find an Indian restaurant on our stop in St. George, but this place was very nice, and the food was delicious! Service was fast, but portion sizes could have been a tiny bit bigger. Otherwise, definitely would stop here again!

Bombay Cafe is delicious indian food. If you can get over the semi-language barrier and bare decor inside, it's a great place. The only complaint is the Spinach paneer, I called ahead to make sure they had it and they said they did, then when I showed up they said it would take 45 minutes to prepare. I was disappointed they had not told me when I had called on the phone. The naan is delicious, the food is made fresh!

I would eat here every day if I could! Favorite place and great staff!! Try lamb coconut curry it is awesome!

Absolutely love this place always great food and great service. Didn't know I liked Indian food until I came to the Bomb-bay cafe!

It has been quite a while since I was here. I had heard it went downhill so I didn't go back for a while. I went back last night and it was a lot better than people had said. The garlic naan was great, the chicken tika masala was good and hot. The only thing lacking is the atmosphere, yet at the same time, the third world atmosphere makes it seem like you are really in India or Pakistan.

We've been there twice and the food was great both times. Their coconut veggie stew is awesome as are their homemade flat breads. Fresh, hot, tasty. Will definitely be going there again. Open for lunch and dinner--not the middle of the afternoon. Great place if you are plant-based.

Okay, first I am very excited to have Indian food in St. George. I ate here yesterday (Chicken Tika Masala) and today (Coconut Chicken Curry). It took a while to think about this review, because it is a small cafe not a full restaurant. So, I had to change my thinking a bit. Food is served in disposable containers, and you eat with plastic forks. That said, the food was good. They could use more sauce on the chicken masala, but the coconut curry had a good amount. Both were flavorful and the spice level is as requested. Presently, they don't have the ability to make Naan on a daily basis (though they said they would make it for me if I asked a day ahead!). Don't order the other bread they have though. The food is good, the option to have Indian food is great, it is a small family run cafe and they need more business. Spread the word, don't let this gem slip away. Like I have said before, step away from the Olive Garden and Applebee's and go to a small family run place that offers some genuinely good food.

This place is incredibly easy to overlook, unless of course you're looking for it in yelp. Even then, it took a little bit of searching to finally find it. At night, this place looks kinda creepy. Not much ambiance at this place. The food was better than ok, but nothing to write home about. It's good to have a place like this in the cultural desert that is Southern Utah.

Spectacular lamb curry. All 4 of us tried something different and we all loved our meal. Start off with a relaxing cup of chai!

We were visiting the St. George area on vacation and had a craving for Indian food so we searched and found this gem on Yelp. Over the course of two visits we tried the chicken tikka masala, chicken vindaloo, and butter chicken (our favorite). Everything was so flavorful. We requested our food extra spicy, and the food came out with just the right amount of heat. I don't think I saw anything on the menu that was over $10 so it is a low risk way for locals to try Indian food if they have never had it. The restaurant is more like a take away with minimal decor but the food tastes so great and the owners are so friendly and genuinely interested in if you are satisfied with you meal or not, it doesn't matter. We will be back to the Bombay Cafe for sure!

The Bombay Cafe & Curry is a small, family-run Indian restaurant tucked in a strip mall, which is a welcome addition to the St. George Utah restaurant scene. Along with serving a variety of seasoned chicken, beef, & lamb dishes, BCC also dishes up delicious Double Rainbow Ice Cream from San Francisco. The Banana Fudge Walnut and the Pistachio are to 'Live For!" The owners are very willing to adjust the seasonings for you and are so gracious. Please take the opportunity to visit this family owned business. Open til 9 Monday - Saturday. Closed on Sunday.

Great food and very friendly people. We ate here for several days in a row while we stayed in St. George for our vacation in September 2012. Good vegetarian options.

I love this place. It's not a full-blown restaurant, but a wonderful place to eat lunch-- and I do a couple times a week. The food is authentic, and tasty; the owners are kind and friendly (and have a cute baby boy there with them as they run the restaurant), and the prices are good. It is unique and there is no other place like it in the area. Please eat here. I've seen a steady increase in the number of people who eat here over the past months and I'd hate to have it go away because people couldn't find it.... so look for it. It's in the run-down strip mall on the corner of Tabernacle and 700 E. Behind the Cameo Florist. Do yourself a favor and eat here for lunch.

My wife and I lov this restaurant. Authentic and unique dishes unavailalbe anywhere else in St. George. The food is well prepared by either Shazad the Owner or his wife - and tastes great! Good portion sizes and you can get great ice cream for desert. On our place for regular lunches.

Went to this place since we were staying nearly next door at the Chalet Motel (4 stars) on a brief visit. It's a small eat-in/take-out joint run by a young Indian couple. For a hole-in-a-wall place the food was pretty good as was the price, great value. I had the tikka masala which I'd rate about a 3.5, I make a better one but it's a lot of work. My wife had the coconut curry, that was great, a 4. You can specify the heat level and a medium heat is about right. The place only holds about 18 patrons with 3-4 tables. Overall, not a bad place if you need an Indian food fix, but nowhere near the great stuff at London Indian restaurants. But for a small town like St. George, it's a 4.

HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. I ordered the Spinach Paneer and when they brought it out there was no "paneer," which is a type of cheese, only a big slop of spinach on rice. So I went up and asked where the cheese was and he told me it didn't come with cheese..WTF? Don't serve food if you don't know what it is. Not only that but it was one of the worst tasting foods I have ever tried. I couldn't even swallow one bite, it tasted and smelled like cow cud. The naan bread looked like it had been taken out of the freezer and tossed on a frying pan. Overall, I have never been so disappointed in a restaurant before and I have eaten at many crappy places. I could have burned a ten dollar bill and gotten more enjoyment out of my money.
